jeremy beard
adjunct professor

Jeremy brings 20 years of professional engineering design experience which covers a variety of water and wastewater services. He’s worked on everything from structural, process and hydraulic engineering projects to performing process treatment system energy audits. Jeremy is particularly skilled at energy audits for water and wastewater systems and shares his knowledge by assisting engineering students with energy audits through the Industrial Assessment Center at the Colorado School of Mines. From project proposal to commission, he works with clients to develop sustainable energy alternatives, utilize advanced technologies, and educate staff on the new applications and processes. Jeremy also has experience on the construction side of projects and directly applies that knowledge to engineering design by developing easily implementable and maintainable solutions to address client concerns.
Jeremy has worked 6 years as an Adjunct Professor for the Colorado School of Mines and 10 years as an Instructor for Red Rocks Community College where he develops project-based cross class collaboration engineering courses. In these courses students support each other through peer-to-peer learning while also developing industry partnerships to gather feedback on their solutions. When teaching Jeremy uses his industry experience to explore sustainability through engineering to transform conventional thinking and spark innovation.
